WHAT WE LOVE

Roman and Williams Guild was established in 2017 by Robin Standefer and Stephen Alesch, founders of the award-winning design firm Roman and Williams Buildings and Interiors. The store is located in The Constable a five-storey red brick building dating to 1857 and the former home of Arnold Constable Dry Goods Emporium one of America’s first department stores.

The space, stretching from Canal Street to Howard Street, showcases Robin Standefer and Stephen Alesch timeless furniture and lighting designs created in collaboration with artisans and master craftsmen alongside handcrafted goods from around the globe.

The Howard Street side of the building features La Mercerie, a pretty restaurant where Chef Marie-Aude Rose serves her reimagined classic French cuisine.
