WHAT WE LOVE

New York's Lower East Side was traditionally known for its pickle vendors (today The Pickle Guys are the sole remaining pickle specialists) so it seems reasonable that secondhand bookstore Sweet Pickle Books should feature the local delicacy alongside its tomes. Sweet Pickle Books opened in 2020 by Leigh Altshuler, who also developed the recipe for the sweet or spicy pickles that she sells in the store.

Sweet Pickle Books accepts book donations in exchange for pickles - but only on specific days. More information on their website or Instagram.
