WHAT WE LOVE

Tales for Tadpoles is a charming children's bookstore in Bray, Wicklow. A bookshop inspired by the world of children's books, illustration, and literature also offering an assortment of complementary gifts. Both new and secondhand books are offered as well as English and Irish language books and a variety of books in other European languages.

Tales for Tadpoles started as a successful market stall selling a selection of books and stationery at fairs around Dublin. In 2016, after a brief stint as a pop-up shop, founder Caroline Sullivan opened Tales for Tadpoles in Dublin's City Centre. In 2022 she moved the shop to her home town of Bray, close to the seafront. The child-friendly bookshop has a pretty backyard with tables and chairs and painted murals. The shop offers several craft workshops and Wonderboxes, a book subscription service.
